Brief Answer:
missed abortion

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
By 6 weeks, there is should be a definite fetal pole and cardiac activity. If there is neither by 6 weeks, then its a missed abortion which has to be terminated.
If you have already crossed 7 weeks, and there is no cardiac activity, then its very unlikely that will appear in follow up scans. You will need to have a termination.
See your doctor about that.

Brief Answer:
Difficult to say

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Its difficult to pin point a reason for this. There can be no reason as well as various other possibilities like genetic/chromosomal disorders, certain antibody problems etc, infections etc. She needs tests as well as chromosomal analysis of both parents and the abortus. No reason that there wont be a successful pregnancy in the future.

Regards,
