What Does My Urine Analysis Report Indicate?

Question: I am a 63 year old male in good health. 6 months ago my urinalysis (clear color) revealed "moderate" blood, but microscopic, and a RBC reading of 0-4 HPF.
Yesterday, my urinalysis (clear again) revealed "low" microscopic blood and a 0-4 - ( actually 1) RBC HPF reading. Recent other blood work has all been normal.
I do have BPH with traditional symptoms, but very low PSA (0.6-0.8), and for years I have regularly taken a baby aspirin once a day. I know I probably need additional tests (CAT? scope? culture?)
But here is my real question.......... knowing there are no guarantees, how likely or probable do you think this could be a serious condition (for example bladder or kidney cancer)? Or could it be a function of the aspirin or BPH?

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have microscopic hematuria 2-4 RBC per field.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Have you consulted urologist and did he do Digital Rectal examination ?

Your Serum PSA levels are well within normal range and there is nothing to be worried about cancer of the prostate .

As regards presence of 2-4 RBC it is normal finding and many a times we come across such finding without evidence of any gross pathology either in bladder or Kidneys.

This could be due to aspirin .I have seen many patients getting hematuria who are taking aspirin .You can withheld aspirin for couple of days and do urine analysis to observe any difference in RBC count.

I am seeing a urologist and he has done a DRE and sees no issues. Given the hematuria of 1 to 3, twice over the last 6 months, do you think I need a CAT?

Normally we advice CT scan if patient has gross and XXXXXXX blood in urine (Gross Hematuria).
However you can get it done to allay your anxiety .I am sure it is going to be normal.

Not being a doctor, and just trying to understand my results.
Have received my actual urinalysis results from last week, as follows:

UA - Blood - "small" (I assume this is dipstick reading????)
UA - MICRO RBC - "none"
UA - MICRO WBC - "none"
UA- MICRO Epithileal - "none"
UA - Leukocyte - "negative"

My question. What does it mean and does it make sense that the Blood reading would be "small", but the microscopic shows "none"?

Any help or understanding you can provide would be appreciated.
