What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
Question: I am looking to understand criticality of issue, typical next steps.
Background includes: hypertension/ high blood pressure, slight obesity, several surgeries on knee, ankle and shoulder, thyroid problems, polyps, restless leg syndrome, and recent "vein stripping" due to leg pain.
On recent vein stripping 4 weeks back:
Our patient surgery, very XXXXXXX post- surgery (no anesthesia)
Upon a painful lump found in leg, ultrasound ordered.
Results below:
Indications: Leg pain-729.5
Technical Limitations: Unable to visualize the GSV from proximal thigh to
proximal calf due to previous ablation.
Conclusions:
Thrombus noted in the superficial vein of right mid calf post vein stripping.
1. Left common femoral vein: , incompetent.
Comparison:
Previous study 2 months ago: 1. Left common femoral vein: , incompetent.
2. Reflux noted of the right great saphenous vein.
3. Right common femoral vein: incompetent.
All other veins do not report DVT.

Also get done lipid profile to know the cholesterol levels. And if dyslipidemia is there then you may need lipid lowering agents like atorvastatin.
