Brief Answer: Some values are over the edge Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic. Regarding high FBS, you should repeat these tests. Your FBS is higher than PPBS. It means it was not measured correctly. For FBS a fasting of atleast 8 hours is required. Nothing to be taken during this time. If it still comes to be high then go for oral glucose tolerance test. If that is also high then you will need to take precautions for diabetes. Regarding high cholesterol and LDL levels, you need to take low calorie diet and exercise daily for atleast 20 min a day. You need to omit high calorie foods like milk products (cheese, butter, ghee, sweets, cream, ice cream, chocolates, etc). You do not need medicines unless you have another related health condition like high blood pressure or heart condition. In otherwise normal individuals lipid lowering medicine is indicated if the LDL levels becomes higher than 190 mg/dl. You may repeat lipid profile in 6 months. Other tests are normal. There is nothing much to worry unless your repeat FBS comes back high. Hope it helps. Dr Vaishalee

Brief Answer: Cholesterol levels are high Detailed Answer: Hi again Your cholesterol levels are high. The normal cholesterol levels are below 200. Between 200 and 240 are borderline. Above 240 are considered high. Now AHA guidelines state clearly that medicines should be initiated when the LDL crosses 190 or TG crosses value of 500. So you do not need statins. The lipid profile should be done fasting. In case you had eaten something then you should go for a repeat lipid profile after atleast 12 hr fasting. Hope it helps. Dr Vaishalee
