What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 4 Jan 2017
Question: I have just received results from a standard health screen, all great apart from Gamma GT at 78? all other LFT's are within normal range. I hardly touch alcohol, don't believe I m feeling ill anywhere. Why could this be raised and can I lower it with diet? same test in 2014 was Gamma at 44? thanks I'm 53 fit and well.

Brief Answer:
Not to be worried

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

This is just slight elevation of ggt and if other findings are fine, you should not be worried. this may be caused by alcohol intake but also some medication, diet, smoking or diabetes may cause it as well.

So you should avoid smoking, regulate body mass, eat less fats, reduce alcohol intake, drink cleaner water and do liver ultrasound each 6 months.

Wish you good health.

Regards
