Brief Answer:
Neurology clinical detailed exam is highly reliable.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Neurology clinical examinations are highly detailed and specific, it tests for sensory and motor function and autonomic functions. There are special nerves called cranial nerves and each nerve is tested clinically. Then there are nerves which originate from the spinal cord and this is also tested in detail.

In short, a neurology clinical exam is highly reliable if done in detail. If the doctor has any suspicions after neurology exam then they will suggest tests like blood work and imaging. You can request an imaging study after discussing with your doctors to confirm that you have no serious neurological abnormality.
