What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 25 May 2017
Question: IMPRESSION:
No acute intracranial abnormality or mass effect. The visualized cavernous
sinuses, Meckel's caves, and trigeminal nerves are unremarkable on this
unenhanced study.
Trying to understand this report:
Scattered foci of T2 prolongation in the periventricular and deep white matter
are nonspecific. Differential considerations include sequelae of migraines,
demyelinating or other inflammatory processes, or chronic microvascular
changes.

Brief Answer:
Needs work up and management

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read yoru question and i understand your concern. MRI report rules out any mass or tumor in side the brain. Also they have commented on the the cavernous sinus ( a part of brain with venous drainage in it) it is normal and intact as well along with other structures named and mentioned all clear.

This T2 image however showed some lesions around ventricles of brain and deep white matter needs further neurological correlation as there is enhanced signal there, there are many possibilities for that as your report has also mentioned. In order to find the possible etiology for that, it will need a neurologist to investigate, take detailed history, examine you and clinically correlate this report.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
