Brief Answer:
Changes in your spine may cause headaches.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Yes, your headaches may be caused by changes in your neck.

Disc loss which is a degenerative disc disease is a normal ageing process in your spinal discs. The most often is in the discs in the lower back and in the neck.

Please note that changes occur more often in people who are obese, smoke cigarettes and do heavy physical work.

Your cervical spondylosis is caused by discs degeneration. You may suffer from stiffness of the neck, headaches, tingling in arms and shoulders.

Your head symptoms may be caused by two things. First - irritation of a spinal nerve because nerve can be pinched or compressed by cervical vertebrae and the second reason is vertebral artery blockage and change in the blood flow as the result of discs degeneration.

I would order for base line:
- Carotid and vertebral artery Doppler ultrasound to check arteries condition.
- Physical therapy which is usually the first treatment.
- For your pain symptoms you can use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Surgery is reserved for patients who have severe pain that has not been relieved by other treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
