Question: I am 35 yrs male - since last 2 months my sgpt (175-225) / sgot (120-175) - initially doctor said u wud be fine, hv less spicy & healthy food. Since, it was noticed on higher side I was administered Hepamerz & Liv52 but after a week the levels were coming down - doctor added two more medicines Udiliv300 & Sorbiline. expecting it to be normal after a week still noticed it again elevated. I have changed two doctors & cant figure out whats going wrong, I am not drinking & having healthy diet. Detailed blood & Urine tests was done twice & all level hv been normal e.g. cholesterol, thyroid, sugar, rbc, wbc, etc.
Pls advise suitable medicines / diet so as to recover soonest as else without the levels normal my employment is effected.

Brief Answer:
you need more investigations

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXX,

Thanks for contacting HealthcareMagic.

Your sgot and sgpt are high, it simply means that there is some inflammation in liver. There are many causes for this and you need more investigation. Common causes are alcohol, hepatitis B, hepatitis C infection, diabetes, obesity, autoimmune hepatitis, wilsons disease, certain drugs etc.
I am wrting a list of tests that you will need to do. I understand you do not take alcohol and take only BP medicines.
You should get the following:
HBsAg, anti HCV antibodies, ANA, ASMA, anti LKM, AMA, serum ceruloplasmin levels, HBA1c, lipid profile, iron profile and ferritin, protein electrophoresis, ultrasound upper abdomen. I also need to know your height in cm and weight in kg.
There is no need of any medicine at the moment. Please get these tests done and then we can decide the treatment or further course of action.
Best wishes.
