What Does Fatty Liver Mean?

Question: ear Doctor,



I am having a history of kidney stones. 3 years back Eurologist has removed my 7mm stone from left kindly using laser treatment (i hope it is laethatropsy).



Now, since some days while passing urine i feel burning sensation and bach ache, so i got doubt and did by ultra scan Kindney & Bladder and now the report says the below :



Kindey : Both kidneys are normal is size and echotexteure, Cortico-medullary defferentiation is mainained. Pelvicalyceal system is normal. No evidence of Calculus.



Right Kidney : 90*40 mm. multiple calculus measuring 5mm & 6 mm seen in upper and mild poles.



Lefe Kidney : 94*40 mm calculus measuring 10mm & 8 mm seen in mild lower poles.



Liver : Echotexture is bright. Normal in size. No facial lesions are noted. The intrhapatice bilary and portal radical are normal. Portal Vein is normal in Caliber.



Urinary Bladder : Normal and is well distended. No evidenc calculus. Wall thickness is within normal limits.





Final impression :



Bilateral renal calucli

Grade 1 fatty liver.



Could you pleas elet me know what is grade 1 fattly liver. Moreover i am not a alchoholic at all. Then how i get fattly liver. For this any treatent required or in dieting only i can mantain this. Please advise steps.



For kidney stone : Please advise if these stone will be going out if i take more liquid or any clinical treatment is required now. Please advise the steps.



I am really rensed by looking at my report. I need your kind advise on the below for further checks.

I have gone through your findings in detail.You are suffering from fatty liver and bilateral multiple renal calculi.

You shouldn't be tensed.Fatty liver is a very common disease among young adults due to changing life style.

Most commonly it is due to obesity and sedentary life.It is also related to alcohol intake.

You need few other investigations like routine hemogram,Random blood sugar(RBS),Liver function test(LFT),Lipid profile,Renal function test(RFT).

You should try to lose your weight if you are overweight.

Fatty liver is a reversible condition and it can be reversed by diet and life style changes.
You may need some medicines after full investigations.
It may take 10-12 months to reverse the findings.

You should be active in your daily life.
You should avoid red meat and high fat milk products.
Cook food in olive or canola oil.
You should take limited salt in your diet.You should also avoid fried and junk food.
Take lot of fruits and vegetables.You should also increase your physical activity in the form of walking and exercise.
You can also do meditation and yoga.It will help you a lot.
Don't take stress in life.You will be fine.

As you have recurrent renal calculi,you should consult urologist for proper evaluation.Type of calculus (means its composition) should be tried to search because proper treatment depend upon the type of calculus.Urine examination RE/ME should be done.Drink lot of water.
Serum uric acid should also be estimated.
Proper treatment depend upon findings.
