Question: I tested positive on 3 home pregnancy tests on March 1st. My last period before that started on January 27th. A week later I experienced heavy mucousy bleeding from March 6th until march 13th. I suspected it to be a chemical pregnancy took 3 more home tests that were all negative. I went to the doctors where I had a negative urine and negative blood test. I have not had a period since but for the past week I have been experiencing sharp pains around my left ovary and my back. Could this be a possible ectopic? Would an ectopic pregnancy give a positive result and then a negative result? Should I have started my next period already or did my cycle change due to the bleeding from March 6-13??
Brief Answer:
Due to chemical pregnancy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Since you had a bleeding few days after a positive pregnancy test it is likely to be a chemical pregnancy. Now that the blood test and urine test both are negative an ectopic pregnancy is ruled out.
The pain in the lower abdomen that you are having can be due to a intestinal colic or an ovarian pain due to hormonal changes in the body. It can be related to premenstrual congestion.
Your period date has most likely got changed. You can wait for your next period till 10th April. In case there is no bleeding till then do consult your gynecologist in that case and get hormonal tablets prescribed to regularize your cycles.
