Question: Hi

I have a query today i was sitting on chair. All off a sudden i felt a heart beat that was like a fluttering or flip feeling in chest. I had no pain or shortness of breath.

My previous concerns of twitching in chest i went to my local GP whi said its most likely amxiety and told me to have 1 tablet propranolol a day.

Brief Answer:
Can be an benign arrhythmia, which is not dangerous

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

It is possible, that you have had some premature heart contractions, which are the most common arrhythmias in your age. Usually small amount of such arrhythmias are not dangerous, and are seen very frequent among healthy people.
Anyway, if you experience such symptoms again, I would advise you to undergo Holter monitoring: it is an examination, during which an 24 hour ECG is recorded, it will show whether there is any abnormality.
But if it is the first time, I don't think there is nothing to be concerned.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
