What Does A Lump On Penis Shaft Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 5 Nov 2014
Question: Hi, I am 18 and after masturbation I notice a lump in my penile shaft. It's been there for months but it hasn't caused any discomfort. Lately it causes a bit irritation as when I get an erection or early morning erections it's pretty uncomfortable. I masturbate honestly too much almost every day. I feel that may be the problem. Is there any ointment or pills I can take to make the clot - like lump go away? I'm pretty worried.

Brief Answer:
Do not masturbate and give rest for few weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the lump like feeling on the Penis.

This kind of condition is quite common due to mild to moderate trauma to the penile tissue. To tell you simply regarding this conditon- our penile skin and tissues are one of the most soft tissues in the body. There are basically blood vessels large to small which fills up the penile tissues.

In case I there is any trauma is any trauma to the penile tissue or blood vessels then it can chase extravasation of blood or tear in the penile tissue which is perceived as a lump or small swelling.

There are no such medication and best thing is to give some rest to the penile tissue. Do not masturbate for few weeks as is the sole most important cause of the increase in the swelling.

If at the swelling increase despite rest then must visit a doctor to see and investigate accordingly.

I hope these informations will help you. I will be glad to answer any further queries.

Thank you for the response Dr. Kanodia. I am a bit relieved as I thought it was thrombosis or monders disease but I see that's likely not the case. I have been masturbating on a daily basis for a few years honestly and, I do not know how healthy that is but I will be sure to definitely calm it down. I hope that giving rest will solve my issue. Thank you again Dr. Kanodia for your time. One more aspect I forgot to mention is that it's in the main penile vein not necessarily on the shaft itself. I don't know if that changes things.
