1.Scattered punctate FLAIR hyperintense foci involving the bilateral frontal lobes and bilateral parietal lobes. Nonspecific FLAIR hyperintense focus within the pons.
2. Chronic microvascular ischemic disease
Given my family history of early onset dementia, could these findings relate to dementia? Thank you.

Non specific FLAIR hyperintensities in white matter of brain more than five in number is the cause of concern and need further follow up.
It may be related to ischemic changes resulting from involvement of small blood vessels.
Other causes like MS,post traumatic sequel,lyme's disease should also be ruled out by follow up scan.
Ischemic changes resulting from blood vessels changes in diseases like hypertension,diabetes mellitus,dyslipidemia.
So,you need monitoring of conditions that leads to ischemic changes like hypertension,altered lipid profile,diabetes mellitus so that further progression of disease can be halted.
You need investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT,Lipid profile.
You also need follow up scan to detect any progression of lesions.
