What Do These RBC Count, Bilirubin And Cholesterol Levels Indicate?
Question: Hi got my medical test today i have high RBC 4.98, high absolute eosinophils count 540, direct bilirubin is 0.29, total cholestrol 213, serum triglycerides 230, ldl 120 and vldl as 46.1, other things thyroid, sugar, urine and rft are normal. My height is 168cms and weight is 86 kgs, please tell the risk involved, I have problem of urticaria from last 3-4 years and my BP is also normal

I have gone through your query and reports. Your RBC is normal. Bilirubin also normal. Total cholesterol should be kept better within 180. Triglycerides are high and it should be maintained below 150. Vldl also is slightly high. By diet and exercises you can control triglycerides and VLDL. Limit saturated and trans fats in diet. Junk foods , sweets , cakes etc should be avoided. Taking oily fishes like mackeral , sardines etc or omega 3 supplements is also good.
Your weight is sightly more according to your height. Ideal weight is height in cm minus 100 plus or minus 5. So 73kg should be your maximum weight. It is better to maintain in that level.
Your absolute eosinophil count is high. This can be due to allergy (urticaria) you are having. This can be due to exposure of some allergen. A consultation with allergist/Immunologist and allergy skin test will be helpful to find the offending allergen. If it is possible to find the allergen then keep away from it is the definite treatment.
Taking antihistamines like Levocetirizine and mast cell stabilizers like Monteleukast for long term is helpful for this. During acute phase a short course steroids also will be needed. This is an allergic condition like asthma and can be treated well and there is nothing to worry.
