Brief Answer:
headache is common side effect of amlodipine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The BP readings you have mentioned here are they by manual check or machine? Because diastolic BP looks quite high.
First thing to do is get your BP checked properly by manual method from a medical person either a doctor or a nurse.
Because if it is as high as you have mentioned then amlodipine 5mg will not suffice.
Second thing is amlodipine causes vasodilation thus causing reduction in BP. In this it also causes vasodilation in brain causing headache. It is a common side effect of the same and it will go away in few days onfe body gets used to it.
So do not worry about the headache but kindly get your BP checked manually from some health professional.
I hope i have answered your query well.
If you have any more query kindly write back to me will be happy to answer them.
Thank you
