Question: Hi I have developed purpuric rash on my both legs since 3 months appears and disappears . My blood report is normal & my dermatologist says that it could be due to either infection or hypersensitivity. he has prescribed me with vit. E, azithromycin, methylprednisolon and calamine lotion. My marriage date is after two months.is there anything serious? Any ayurvedic treatment? I am very worried. Please help.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis; upload photo

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query.

I will keep a possibility of Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis (LCV). It presents as palpable purpuric macules on dependant body areas i.e legs.
These lesions are usually asymptomatic but can be itchy or painful. There can be recurrent crops of lesions.

I would like you to upload a few photographs of the affected area so that I am sure about my diagnosis.

-Are there any systemic symptoms like joint pains, abdominal pain, fever, malaise?

Brief Answer:
LCV

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

To upload a picture you need to go to the Reports Section OR else you may also mail the pictures at YYYY@YYYY with the subject line as "Attn Dr. Kakkar".
Make sure that you upload a clear digital photograph of the affected area.

Cutaneous LCV without systemic symptoms, is idiopathic in most of the cases and majority of the cases have a good prognosis.
We need to rule out internal organ involvement like of Kidney, GIT, joints etc. Absence of systemic symptoms and absence of internal organ involvement is a good sign.
There may be a few recurrences but ultimately they abate.

Did you undergo any investigations like Hemogram, KFT, LFT, Skin Biopsy etc?

Hi.

I have received the attachments but I cannot review them because they are very small sized photographs and when I zoom them they get blurred.
