What Do Numbness On The Fingertips Suggest?

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Aug 2016
Question: I've been diagnosed with Severe Carpal Tunnel, left hand after EMG testing. This started last November after a fall on my left arm which fractured and dislocated my left elbow, There is no pain, but the MF and RF fingers and fingertips are numb. This is a nuisance which inhibits some ability to use left hand for detail work (car hobby, home repairs, etc). Is it possible this will heal itself after more time?

Brief Answer:
Recovery less likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

The numbness in two fingertips that you have is due to the nerve compression. With proper treatment the recovery is likely in first few weeks. Now after so many months the recovery is less likely. But you can start with methylcobalamin supplements and a steroid shot in the area of damage can help in recovery of the nerve function. You can consult your orthopedician regarding this.

I hope this answers your query.
