Brief Answer:
Your wife has UTI.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your wife has UTI.

Get her routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like
Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure she drinks more water. To keep her urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Rule out any other cause for pain in lower abdomen by doing Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Dear Dr,

The urine report has come and it is negative, but the urine culture was done when my wife's period had already come.

She is on 509mg Zinnat antibiotic for 5 days 2 times daily.

Will the urine report come incorrect as the urine was withdrawn after periods.

Do you recommend any further test.

Brief Answer:
IfIt should not affect the report if urine is not contaminatd with menses

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .

If urine is not contaminated with menstrual flow it will not affect the report .

However you may repeat urine culture after her period is over Till then continue with antibiotic prescribed .

Thanks and Regards.
