What Could Cause Sudden Pulsation On Neck Vein?

Question: Hi, I am a 44 year old male. About two weeks ago my right side of my neck vein would pulsate for no apparent reason. The pulsating would cease after a few seconds then resume a few minutes later. Eventually the pulsating will cease. Usually, this would start in the morning hours ten resume at some point in the afternoon and later in the evening. Basically, an on and off thing. My blood pressure and pulse rate are within the normal range - I have a blood pressure monitor at home. What could this be?
