Question: Have been having bladder and testicle pain. Went to my pcp and had a urinalysis. Results were negative for infection but had calcium oxide crystals in urine. Since then I've noticed my semen is yellow. What could be the issue?

Brief Answer:
Increase fluids intake;avoid salt;run semen culture as following...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Having bladder and testicle pain is indicative for possible uro-genital problems.
You are not having bladder or urinary tract infection (UTI) as per the urine analysis that was negative.

The calcium oxide in urine is indicating that :
- most probably you are not drinking too much fluids (especially water)
- you are eating foods high in salt

Drinking plenty of water and taking fern stone tea can help resolve this problem.

2. With regards to yellow semen, that could possibly indicate a problem (inflammation/infection) with your genital tract. If I was your caring doctor would advise to run spermogram and culture of semen to exclude/confirm infection and get it treated with adequate antibiotic as given by the sensitivity testing.

Until you run this test, I advise to avoid sexual intercourse/ejaculation at least 3 days prior to testing.

Depending on the test results, prescription antibiotics will be advised.

Hope it answered to your queries!

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Yes, there are some STDs (e.g. gonorrhea or chlamydia). The culture and other STDs testing will rule it out/determine it.
