What Causes Withdrawal Bleeding And Sickness After Taking Birth Control Pills?

default
Posted on Wed, 5 Aug 2015
Question: I have been on my birth control pills for the last three months. However, I was on vacation during the first week of my current pack and missed that week (June 19-26). We did have sex two days before I stopped, as well as two days after the week was over. I am unsure whether or not I ovulated. I am now on the last week of my pills and bled only one day this week. Could this be pregnancy related? If not, what does it mean if my period only lasts one day? I have been feeling very sick. Could this be birth control related?

Brief Answer:
It can be a side effect of birth control pill.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I can understand your concerns.
The chances of pregnancy have always been there with unprotected sex.
The bleeding is most probably a side effect of birth control pills called withdrawal bleeding.
But if you will not get proper bleeding than you should get your home urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy( because you have not used your pills regularly) .
Hope it is useful , feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
