Brief Answer: As below: Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for your query. 1. In the attached image, there is congestion in the throat and a coated tongue. the cobblestone appearance of the posterior pharyngeal wall is consistent with granular pharyngitis. theis representts inflammation and hypertrophy of the lymphoid tissue at the back of the throat. 2. Since you have been on the above-mentioned medication over the last few weeks without total resolution of symptoms, i would advise a throat swab to be sent for culture and antibiotic sensitivity. If the throat swab is positive for resistant organisms, the antibiotics may be changed accordingly. If the swab is negative, other reasons such as allergy, a post nasal drip, sinusitis, sleep disordered breathing and acid reflux need to be ruled out. 3. If a post nasal drip (PND) is suspected, get a plain CT PNS ( Para Nasal Sinuses) done. the sinuses may be the source of the PND and also for the sunken eyes. Dehydration may also be one of the causes for the above symptoms. 4. Meanwhile continue with an antiallergic mucolytic, anti reflux medication, a medicated gargle and steam inhalation. Avoid any exposure to tobacco and alcohol. take a bland diet, avoiding fried, oily, sour foods and cold liquids. I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them. Regards.
