What Causes Wheezing After Exposure To Mold?

default
Posted on Mon, 19 Oct 2015
Question: Dear Dr.,

My bathroom has mold on the ceiling. I've had mold there for sometime. I thought it was due to lack of ventilation, but it's there apparently from a leak from the apt. above me.

Anyway, next week I see my doctor for a routine physical. Is there any test I should ask to have to see if the mold is inside me? I feel fine. I do have asthma so I'm used to being a little wheezy every now and then.

I'm taking care of the mold problem with a contractor. Should I be concerned and ask my doctor to test me in some way?

Thanks,
XXXX

Few tests suggested

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
You can ask for fungal cultures and serum IgE levels. Chest x ray and preferably CT Chest will de definitely beneficial.
These may help detect the fungal growth in body if present.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal
