Question: URGENT ADVISE NEEDED

Hi,
Me and my fiance decided to meet on 4th Sept. But she was about to have her periods in the same duration so she took period delaying pills for the first time from 1-2nd sept to 5-6th Sept at irregular intervals and took only 10 tablets. We meet on 4th Sept and had intercourse at regular intervals from 4th Sept night to 7th Sept Day. We took care and used condoms all the time except for 1-2 times where i pulled out well before. Still to avoid the risk she took two unwanted 72 tablets one on 5th night and one on 7th night.
But then she didn't got full periods but got lighter periods 10 days after around 17th Sept only for 3 days with little spotting. Then on 2nd Oct she fell sick which got severe with heavy weakness, dizziness , and red rashes over the face and hands. We were worried and she took a pregnancy test on 7th Oct which came negative. Then on 8th Oct she got heavy periods for 5 days. Still she gets tired and feels weak by today 27th Oct.
Please help out!!
Is she pregnant?
Is this the result of side effects of Unwanted 72/period delaying pills?
If yes what can be done as we are not yet married and not ready/stable for a baby. kindly advise!

Brief Answer:
She may not get pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us about it.

Her symptoms can be due to side effect of I-pill because it carries a high dose of hormone in it and she already had pills for delaying her period.

In her case so many pills cause hormonal imbalances and her symptoms may be due to it simply.

The opportunities of pregnancy are very rare in her case because she had I-pill within time and you had protected sex also.

She should drink a lot of water and can take the Pan-D, tranxemic acid, iron and calcium for her symptoms.

These symptoms can disappear within few days.

Menstrual disturbances can go on for 2-3 cycles.

Hope it is useful, feel free to discuss more.

Good luck.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. Feeling a bit relaxed.
I have some more doubts plz help me with the answer.

1. She is having abnormal weight specially in the lower stomach region and grown a tummy. Also feels something uneasy in the stomach area sometimes.

2 To be sure she is not pregnant, should we wait fr the next period? Or anything else can confirm!

3 will these symptoms affect in any in later part of the life.
Kindly answer all the queries. That would be a great help.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It is due to side effect of drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Nice to find out from you all again.

You are welcome here always.

Answers of your queries are as under-

- The symptoms are primarily due to side effect of drugs which contains a high dose of hormone in it. (They are due to hormonal imbalance).
-She can take Pan- D for it.
-You should wait for her next menses. (The period may occur early or delay due to drugs). Nothing is needed right now.
-No these symptoms may not affect her later part of life.
- Only menstrual disturbances can go on for 2-3 cycles.

Hopefully it is clear now.

Good luck.

Hi,

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX for the wise advice. It helped us alot.
I know i am asking a lot but i have last set of few more queries, please advise.

1. The abnormal weight gain(tummy in the lower stomach region) will get normal naturally or something(workout etc) had to be done? Also can it increase further?

2. She is having a lot of anger/mood swings these days. This may also be due to side effects of the drugs?

3. The side effects occurred one month after taking the tablets and are still not vanished completely? Is that okay.

4. How much delay we can expect in the next menses so as to not to get worried again?

5. Asking again but please conclude, her chances to get pregnant for this incident is next to nill right and there is nothing to worry!

Sorry for asking lots of questions again but please bear with me, i am very much worried about this.

Thank you again Dr. XXXXXXX for all the advice and answering every basic/unnecessary question also in great details. :)
