Brief Answer: Try diet change and zinc with stool tests Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing to healthcare magic. In persistent diarrhoea for 3 weeks, the following would be my suggestions: 1. Stool for reducing substances. If positive you need to avoid all dairy products. 2. Stool routine to look for pus cells to suggest infection and this will require antibiotics again. 3. Ultrasound abdomen to look for bowel, partial obstruction if any. 4. Try zinc for 14 days at 20mg per day to help in recovery 5. If nothing helps then you may follow your doctor's advice. Wishing your kid speedy recovery. Dr Arun
