Brief Answer:
Yes, both can be taken together!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these infections that you have mentioned. Yes, it is totally safe to take azithromycine and Nitrofurantoin. However, I would have love dot see you do a urine test to confirm your suspicion before treating. This way, we will identify the exact germ that might be responsible and what antibiotics would work. Azithromycine might be equally good...and may spare us from using another antibiotic at this time as well.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

Thankyou. I will hold off on the nitrofurantoin.
I was told sometimes when u start an antibiotic a bladder infection will surface because the antibiotic kills off the probiotics, allowing bladder germs to surface. Is this true?
Also is it good to start probiotics while on antibiotics or wait til the antibiotic is finished?
Thankyou, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Start them while on antibiotics!

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX and thanks for tis follow up.

It is true that antibiotics can kill good germs and allow bad ones to take advantage and cause further infections. This is more common with vaginal and intestinal infections. Bladder infections are not typical. However, if you must take probiotics for this, it is best to start at the start of treatment with antibiotics.

How are you feeling at this time? Is there any improvement already? I wish you well and hope to hear back from you.
