Brief Answer:
Yes, continue the drugs along with insulin.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Mrs. XXXXXXX Usually when the diabetes is initially diagnosed, We start to control it with lowest possible dose of drugs. This was done initially as janumet and starvog which are anti-diabetic in nature.

With time if the blood sugar levels are not being under control with the drugs you are taking, either dosages are increases or newer drug is added when we reach the optimal dose of previous drug. In your case addition of insulin is of that type.

Now coming to your query, you need to continue the drugs along with insulin to keep the dosage of insulin minimal. The action of insulin and the other drugs you are using differ in their mechanism of action. The action of insulin is complimented by the medicines you are taking in controlling the sugar levels.

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
No, insulin doesn't increase your weight.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Miss. XXXXXXX

Insulin doesn't have any side effects except for rarely possible allergic reaction in early days in very few people. Insulin is to be taken for life time.

Insulin doesn't increase your weight.

Coming to pregnancy, a very strict control of sugar levels is required in order to conceive and have a fruitful pregnancy. Plan pregnancy accordingly. under strict sugar control, no problem to conceive.
