Brief Answer:
Tinnitus can be seen in migraine types of headaches

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your question. I am happy to provide an opinion on the limited information you've provided.

However, if by "bad" headaches you are referring to severe, 1-sided headaches which throb or pulsate, are accompanied by at least 2 of the following: Nausea, Vomtiing, Extreme sensitivity to light or sound, and last between 4-72 hrs. then, you may very well be having a MIGRAINE HEADACHE and if that's the case the symptom of TINNITUS or ringing in the ears can be seen in this form of headache. When the headache subsides then, the tinnitus typically does so as well.

If on the other hand the headache and the tinnitus are both part of an ear trauma, ear infection, or other abnormality that can be found in the ear such as a arteriorvenous malformation, a fistula forming, or other reason for increased hydrostatic pressures in the ear then, you may be describing the front end of a Meniere's like problem except you haven't said anything about spinning or vertigo which is usually quite noticeable and severe in such cases.

Another potential explanation of what you're experiencing could be from raised intracranial pressure within the head from a condition known as IDIOPATHIC INTRACRANIAL HYPERTENSION or IIH. In this situation there is an increase in the fluid pressure within the head and this can lead to the development of ringing in the rings that can be quite severe and annoying if not debilitating.

In any of these 3 cases I believe your best options to narrow down the field of possibilities and find exactly the most beneficial type of specialist to look at things would be to speak with your primary doctor...or if you don't have one....be seen in either an Urgent Care center or ER so that the severe headache can be looked at in the context of your history, age, medications being taken (to rule out potential side effects causing these symptoms), activities, and determine if you may need something such as emergency imaging studies of the head, a lumbar puncture to measure your pressure, or potentially antibiotics to clear up an acute middle or inner ear infection that could be causing these problems.

If I've adequately answered your questions could you do me a huge favor by CLOSING THE QUERY and being sure to include some fine words of feedback along with a 5 STAR rating if you feel my suggestions have helped? Again, many thanks for posing your question and please let me know how things turn out.
