What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Navel?

default
Posted on Wed, 3 May 2017
Question: Hello. I have had a tingling sensation below my belly button for almost 2 weeks. It started when I was on Naproxin with a sharp pain and my Dr switched me to Celebrex. The severe pain is gone but still have a tingling sensation. I have a history of 3 diverticulitis attacks but have recovered each time. I'm 51 yrs old. Do you think it's a medication issue or something else?

Brief Answer:
Can be a minor diverticular event.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing this forum.
As earlier pain was associated with tingling sensation it can be a minor attack of diverticulitis.
I would advice you not to take condition lightly but to get a stool test (routine and microscopy) done along with an ultra sound abdomen to rule out the possibility of a repeat diverticular attack.
Naproxen is just a anti inflammatory pain killer which will supress the pain regardless of cause.
However as you have recurrent history of diverticulitis my initial suggestion is to go for the tests to rule out the above mentioned possibilities.
Regards
