What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Head?

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Apr 2017
Question: Hi, I am having weird symptoms and don't know which type of doctor I need to see. First my head feels tingly, then from my cheeks down to my check start to sweat and it is annoying/scary with the head thing. I am not diabetic, have low cholesterol count, BP normally is 110/70. Had gastric bypass 3 yrs ago, so try and eat small meals during day to keep blood sugar level. No heart conditions, somewhat sedentary and 68 yrs young. What type of specialist should I start with, my PCP shows all blood work normal range! I take Evista for bone prevention and multi vitamin/min and protein shakes due to gastric bypass.
Help...
Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
needs a neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam XXXXXXX
I have read your message.
The symptoms of your query are indeed intriguing.
However, after considering the symptoms, and the possibilities, I think strongly that you need to meet a neurologist.
There is a tingling of the head and this is followed by this sweating on one side of the face.
I think that you do not have any other features, or symptoms like pain, or numbness of the face. If you do please let me/the neurologist know.
I think this is a nerve related issue.
Please meet the neurologist in your area.
Please let e know if you want to discuss any point in detail.
Best of luck, Dr Mittal

The sweating is my whole face, not just one side.

I was wondering also should I see an endocrinologist maybe something with hormones?
No, no pain or numbness.

Brief Answer:
Neurologist, followed by Endocrinologist, if necessary

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your response.
First, there are conditions that can cause sweating on both side of the face.
So I still believe that you need to meet a neurologist.
The other possibility of endocrinologist is valid.
But endocrine disorders are not likely to cause the tingling feeling.
What is more, the sweating would be more generalized with an endocrine problem.
Therefore, I do feel it is a nerve related issue, not endocrine.
Best of luck.
