Brief Answer:
see your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Even though it does not feel like heartburn it could still be reflux so I think it is worth trying a medication like omeprazole (prilosec) at bedtime for a few weeks to see if it resolves. If it does not then definitely see your primary care doctor. Sometimes there are problems like blockages in the esophagus that can cause this kind of pain. Also you want to be sure this tightness is not coming from your heart and your primary doctor would be the best one to help sort that out.
Belching is often from a digestive problem. The first things I would try are getting rid of all dairy from your diet and adding a probiotic taken once a day on an empty stomach.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
