Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us at hcm.
This is Dr.Riyanka and I am glad to be helping you with your query.

Tight feeling of the chest is most commonly due to Respiratory problems caused due to various factors like Chronic Smoking, Lower respiratory tract infections , Chronic Bronchitis or Allergic conditions and also at times due to Cardiac Pathologies.

Firstly if you are a smoker then kindly reduce the number of times you smokes and try to give up smoking.

It would be more helpful if you could provide more information on the medications you have tried and whether the tightness is accompanied with bodyache , fever, running nose to rule out (Flu) respiratory infections. In that case consult a physician. The following drugs can be helpful are :

1. Antibiotics like Tablet Amoxycillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days.
2. Tablet Acetaminophen 500mg thrice a day for fever.
3. Steam inhalation and salt water gargle for relief.

If there are no flu like symptoms, kindly consult a physician regarding Pulmonary function tests to rule out other respiratory problems.
I would also Advice an ECG (Electrocardiogram) to rule out cardiac problems.

Hope this answers your query. Don't worry .
