Brief Answer: There are two explanations for your abnormal liver Detailed Answer: HI Mr XXXX, welcome to HCM. There are two explanations for your abnormal liver tests: 1. your BMI is 36.7, mean you are having severe obesity, because of which, you may have developed fatty liver, rising the enzymes. 2. Dialy consumption of alcohol, irrespective of the type, will have significant negative impact on the liver, causing alcoholic hepatitis. you are probably having the combination of both. Your drugs for blood pressure are fine and can be continued. It is unlikely that GGT and SGPT become normal either spontaneously or with drugs, unless you modify your risk factors by loosing weight and reducing/stopping alcohol. I believe this is ideal time for you to pull back to health. you may start using UDILIV 300 mg once a day, a liver helping drug. Hope i was clear enough. please post for any further queries.

Brief Answer: No more than 500 ml per of beer (8%) per day Detailed Answer: hi, There is no absolute safe limit of alcohol for those with liver abnormality. However, as you are keen in continuing your habit, i would recommend you not to drink more than 500 ml per of beer (8%) per day. A less stronger beer, say 4% can be had upto 1 liter. Consume large quantities of water along with it. Neither coffee nor tea adds any further benefit. All the best.

Brief Answer: 40 ml per day, is OK. Detailed Answer: Yes, 40 ml per day, is OK. You have other issue of Gout (hyperuricemia), beware of debilitating joint pains if uric acid crops to >8. Diet: Foods that should be reduced include meat, red wine, fish, cakes, biscuits, soft drinks and artificial fruit juices (like fruti). Drinking plenty of water is a must. All the best.
