What Causes Swollen Lymphatic Tissue In Throat, Headache And Nerve Pain?

default
Posted on Wed, 4 May 2016
Question: My 13 year old daughter has what appears to be swollen lymphatic tissue in her throat...or maybe its something else? No throat pain, but mild jaw pain.
This is in addition to headache and nerve pain that "flitters" over entire body.

Brief Answer:
Your daughter having enlarged tonsils & PPW lymphoid tissue hypertrophy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , seen picture and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history & picture it appears that your daughter are most probably having enlarged tonsils & posterior pharyngeal wall (PPW) lymphoid tissue hypertrophy with post nasal drip (PND).

If she also having snoring & mouth breathing during sleep then adenoid hypertrophy (lymphoid tissue) with rhino-sinusitis can also present . It can result into headache with nerve pain .

Investigation like X-ray Nasopharynx needed to rule out adenoid hypertrophy.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
Consult ENT Specialist for examination & investigation .

Till then , Use Antiseptic chlorhexidine Mouth Wash twice daily ,
Saline nasal spray thrice daily ,
Antihistaminic Tab Claritin (Loratadine 10mg) at night &
Tablet tylenol for headache & pain .

You will get relief .

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Regards.
