Brief Answer:
different possible causes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

MAY BE VENOUS DISEASE, THIS IS a common cause. Elevation of the legs may help. Special stockings are also worn in venous disease.
There are other causes as well.

If there is no improvement with elevation, your doctor may need to check you for the other causes

Swelling of both feet can be related to :
(1) venous disease- common cause- the valves in the veins of the legs can stop working as they should as a person gets older
Because of this, blood can accumulate in the legs. Varicose veins may be seen.

Elevation of the legs and special stockings, if needed, may help
(2) heart disease
(3)kidney disease
(4)liver disease

Heart, kidney and liver disease can each cause swelling of the legs because they cause fluid to build up in the body.
Blood tests can check the kidneys and liver and there are also tests to check the heart if your doctor thinks the swelling is heart related

Restricting fluids , in addition, to medication , would be needed.

(5)side effects of medications- none of the meds mentioned can do this

(6)trauma to the legs/feet

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

I wore support stockings all day yesterday. I removed them at nite and this morning my ankles were normal. By noon time they were swollen again. Is this normal?

Brief Answer:
can occur

Detailed Answer:
HI

Sorry about the delayed reply

Once a person starts moving around, standing up etc, the swelling can return

You would have to try to have more episodes during the day of sitting down with your feet propped up and/or wear the stockings consistently

Please feel free to ask any other questions
