What Causes Swollen Ankles And Feet?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Aug 2014
Question: I am experiencing swollen ankles and feet, leaving indentations on the skin from sandals being worn. One foot and ankle is much worse than the other one. Sleeping with elevated leg, but is helping very little. I am also unusually tired, as well as losing a large amount of hair from scalp area.

Brief Answer:
Get investigations done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

Problem you are facing is due to many reasons so to make your exact diagnosis, get your thyroid profile, cardiac status including E.C.G and morning blood pressure, fasting blood sugar levels, serum uric acid, E.S.R, C.R.P levels checked and send me the reports.

Also get xray of right and left foot with ankle in AP and Lateral view and send me the report.

Try to avoid wearing sandals and instead wear sport shoes.

Its good that you sleep with foot elevated also while sitting you should place your foot on next chair or elevate it.

Take serratiopeptidase but do not take it without prescription form your local doctor.

Have balanced diet.

I hope you have got your answer.

You are welcome to ask any health related query.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
