What Causes Swelling In The Hands And Wrists?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Jan 2017
Question: Good Day Dr Rynne,
From 12/23 to present my left wrist and hand is swelled, similar to a sprain. Can not pinpoint possible cause. Motrin, rest and icing, and a Mueller restrictive Wrist Band has helped during the holiday week in which i was at home, and able to rest it. Last evening detected a re-swelling. Possibly due to Tuesday and Wednesday driving 1. 5 hr / per day; left hand driving wheel dominant. Today used the wrist band, and now began re-taking Motrin. Respectfully , XXXX, YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
Get xray done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

It seems sprain, arthritis of wrist has been started developing.

So, don't ignore it, get xray of wrist AP and Lateral view done and send me the report.

Till then avoid any type of exercise.

Have cap.rabiprazole empty stomach, tab. aceclofenac100mg+serratiopeptidase15mg thrice a day.

Use wrist band.

I hope it helps.

Thanks,
