What Causes Swelling Around The Abdomen While On Methamphetamine?

Question: was sick and took amoxicillan and ran out and started taking penicillan. Then i used meth (snorted and smoked). started swelling in my lower cheeks and under chin and right upper arm. stopped taking antibiotic and took benidry and continued using meth. now i have fluid trapped under the skin on my stomach, my sides, above waist in back and on the upper thighs in back. took a diuretic and still swollen. what should i do? stopped using meth 2 days ago.

I do not think your current issue has anything to do with meth and it is unusual to have swelling around the abdomen. I need a few more details in order to help you

1. Does the swelling pit and leave an indent when applied pressure with your finger ?
2. Are your feet swollen as well? or only the thighs?
3. Is your swelling over the cheeks and chin better?
4. Have you been taking any pain killers off late?
5. mention all the medications you are on currently

1.the swelling does not pit or leave indentation. 2.feet and lower legs are not swollen. only the top of my upper thighs in the back and sides. 3. the swelling on cheeks and chin is better. there are still little patches. 4. no pain killers. i did take antibiotics, ibuprofen, aspirin, tried using benedryl cream for my face in case it was an allergic reaction and I took Benadryl orally and yesterday I took the diuretic that is when i noticed how big my thighs and stomach were. and the skin feels gushy where the fluid is. my right upper arm is swelling now too
My right arm is swelling more and also in front of my shoulder. Is there anything I can take to relieve the pressure. And, 6 red bumps have popped out on my face.

Thanks for getting back

It looks like you have generalised edema known as anasarca. You could take diuretics to relieve the edema, i usually give my patients Lasix 20-40 mg. However what is more important is why you are getting the swelling. Please get the following tests done without further delay

1. urine routine to see for loss of proteins
2. Serum albumin
3. Ultrasound of the abdomen
