What Causes Swelling And Redness Of The Eyes?

default
Posted on Fri, 6 Oct 2017
Question: About 3 weeks ago when I got my hair colored a small drip of the XXXXXXX landed on my left eye lid. The next day I had a swollen red eye (skin only no problem with the eye itself). I put Neosporin on it and in a few days it went away - then it came back and then it went away and came back again - now on both eyes. I went to the dr and he prescribed cortisone cream and said no more Neosporin. The cortisone cream made it itchy and scaly and now it's back again on both eyes and very irritated - I'm at a loss at what to do next.

Brief Answer:
No more medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern. I advise you to stop taking the cortisone cream and not use any other cream or medicine.
Instead, do a chamomile face rinse three times a day and let it dry on its own. Chamomile has mild antibacterial properties and also calms and soothes the skin.
Repeat this for 2-3 days. If you do not see any improvement then please see a dermatologist.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
