Brief Answer:
Muscle spasm.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The Scalp has a continuous sheet of muscle.

2. What you feel is most likely a muscle spasm due to the pinched nerves in the neck.

3. This is unlikely to be related to sinusitis. Get cervical spine X-rays done. Continue the physiotherapy. A USG can always be done if your physician has a doubt after palpation the swelling.

4. A muscle relaxant, painkiller, local ointments and heat fomentation will help relieve this. The cause of the irritation such as the pinched nerves in the neck must be treated.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
