Brief Answer:
likely to be muscle pull/strain

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

This kind of sudden pain is likely related to calf muscle pull/strain or tear and very unlikely involvement of some vascular origin,so I will keep the first and most likely possibility of muscle pull or strain here.

Take proper rest. Avoid any activity or exercise that involve painful muscles.

Continue icing over affected area, elevation of the limb and application of pain relieving gel will give you some relief from pain.

You can also continue with pain killer (like Ibuprofen) one tablet twice a day after meals.

Vitamin B complex, folic acid and vitamin C would also be helpful helpful in recovery.

Mostly, your symptoms will subside within 3 to 4 days OR in case,if your symptoms persists even after the above measures, consult an orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation and management

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Take care and regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
