Brief Answer:
ENT consultation needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for posting the concern in HCM.
You have mentioned that you have a sore red patch on your nasal septum along with history of sudden onset nasal bleeding and history of dry nose. You also don't have a medical insurance. Now, you want to know necessary actions to be taken.

Firstly, the lesion should be examined clinically by an ENT surgeon at the earliest. I understand that you don't have any medical insurance. But, then also clinical examination here is very much needed.

Secondly, from the history it seems that it may be due to atrophic rhinitis. Several other possible reasons should be excluded like nasal polyp, septal perforation and if present its causes, autoimmune diseases, infection etc.

Therefore, following investigations will be needed -

Complete blood count, urea, creatinine, ESR, ANA, fasting sugar, VDRL
CT scan of nose and PNS
Nasal swab microscopic examination

You may apply the following nasal drops-
Saline nasal drop (nasoclear)- one drop in affected nostril 3 times daily for 7 days.
I also advice my patients with similar condition to apply Otrivin nasal drop- one drop in affected nostril twice daily for three days.

If there is bleeding furthermore, you should rush to nearest hospital ER.

If you find this answer helpful, please close the thread and rate my answer.
You may get back to me with the investigation reports.

Dr Kaushik Sarkar
