Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to Reflux of stomach acid into the foodpipe !!!

Detailed Answer:
Warm Welcomes. I appreciate your trust in HCM and assure you are on best portal on the globe for expert online medical services.
I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

I feel really sorry for the discomfort you have. It seems that you are having the issue of hyperacidity in stomach and Gastroesophageal reflux of this acid. Actually when there is excess of acid in stomach and there is a defect of the system keeping this acid inside stomach, then it regurgitates upwards to the mouth through foodpipe (esophagus).

During lying in the bed, this passageway becomes more easy as the effect of gravity is no more and this acid comes to irritate mouth causing a feeling of nausea and sometimes vomiting too. That's why it is recommended to keep the headboard of bed a bit higher than the foot end (by keeping headboard elevators beneath it) so as to save the patient form this discomfort and frequent awakening at night.

I preferably suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist for thorough evaluation and management. He will have to start from thorough history and will go for physical examination. After running a battery of tests on you he may be able to diagnose and treatment goes accordingly. He will do H.Pylori stomach infection test and an evaluation of the upper gastrointestinal tract via a camera assisted device (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy).

Causes may be stomach infection by a bacteria h.pylori; loss of tone and normal function of lower esophageal sphincter; hiatal hernia (sliding of the stomach through esophageal hiatal opening in diaphragm.

Take over the counter GAVISCON LIQUID orally before meals until you get appointment from a Gastroenterologist. It will help relieve symptoms. Take a balanced diet and you will feel better and tiredness will go away once your system is disease free. Nutritional digestion is compromised and you feel malaise due to that. Take plenty of clean drinking water and avoid caffeinated drinks, beverages, spices, alcohol and smoking.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Please give your 'rating' (if agreed, Five Stars) to help me assist patients in a better way; and, please don't forget to click on 'Close The Discussion'.
For any disease you have, a timely follow-up is necessary regarding the treatment efficacy and to see if there is a need to change treatment options. So keep a follow up to see how you doing (Always write down my name in start of your questions at this forum & I will be with you in no time).
