Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Question: I am wondering if I should go to the hospital. I am 17 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I am 35 years old and am suffering from low amniotic fluid. I have had 6 ultra sounds done. one was a level 2 ultrasound. my OB is in the middle of transferring by services to a higher level of care. Last night I started spotting and this morning a passed a clot the size of a quarter. I put a call into the OB that is transferring my services over 2 hours ago. I am also taking a baby aspirin daily.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this blood clot that you have mentioned. I have reviewed your information fully and I believe you need to be evaluated as soon as possible. At 35years, we shouldn't be taking any chances with your first pregnancy. We should identify the exact cause, manage appropriately and in a timely manner to make sure that all goes well.

I all, I recommend you go to the hospital and get this checked out.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
