What Causes Spotting After Having Plan B?

Question: I took plan b , and i got my period five days after and it was somewhat normal. But when it got light i started spotting brown ( period lasted six days). (does not smell) but its been a week since my period ended and im still spotting sometimes it feels like i started my period again except its just brown discharge sometimes like dark brown like line clots when i wipe or its like clots and it still hasnt stopped. Its almost as if my discharge is just tinted brown sometimes with clots sometimes. :( i dont have any other symptom. It doesnt itch or burn or anything. So im really confused. I have to wear a light pad and im too subconscious to be intimate again..

Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1. Since you took plan B, it has temporarily disturbed your hormonal balance and hence you are having irregular spotting.

2. This might go on and off till next cycle and you will be fine after next cycle.

3. Meanwhile if this is bothersome, you can considering starting an oral contraceptive pill so that this spotting stops. Dont get subconscious to get intimate again. This doesnot happen everytime
