Posted on Tue, 12 Jan 2016
Question: I went to emergency room for a chest injury. They told me no broken ribs but they did find a spot on my upper arm bone ( tumor) like..she said usually she can tell if its begnin by the depth of black or size on a exray. But not this one. I made a appt with my PCP he felt my arm felt the mass then sent me for a exray. After the exray he said he would contact me in 5 days. Well the next morning 2 minutes after they opened I got a call for a expidited MRI referral. I went for the mMRI but they said they had to do blood work first due to my high bp. So now I'm. a few more days for MRI. It has been 2 weeks sinceiinitial exray. But now it feels like the bumps bigger and now have a dull achy pain that gets worse every day. Also for the last month Ivhad no energy and cconstantly tired. I have also lost 8 lbs in the. last month. I just want to know if its cancer I hate the fact everything withmy Dr. Takes for evere. At my Dr. office they are all about volume of patients not quality of care. Its about how much can they XXXXXXX out. Now how quick can they help. II'm frustrated and scared just buried my Nana due to cancer. Can any give me advice??

Brief Answer:
Wait and see. Needs work up to sort out

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Spot on the bone as an incidental finding should not be jumped to conclusion of tumor. You have weight loss mentioning last month but that could be mere anxiety . Lets wait for MRI report, blood work up and then decide what it is. Right now it is too early to jump to conclusions and not wise. It will just add to anxiety. Lets hope for the best. It may be mere a bone deformity or a variation.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.

Yes it is too early and your primary care doctor is right, it's not his domain. Let your labs come and then you will get a referral to an orthopaedic expert.
