What Causes Sore Burning Pain Above Left Breast?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Mar 2015
Question: ive been having a weird sore/ burning pain near the top of my left breast, heading towards my armpit. i felt around for any lumps and didnt feel anything abnormal. i pushed down on my nipple and it felt a little bit sore. i am not due for a menatrual period for a few weeks, im not pregnant, and have no recent injury that would cause this. I have had a CBC done and all my blood levels were really good. Im just really nervous and want to avoid the ER by all means. also the left side of my stomach has been feeling a burning sensation . its all only pain on the left side. i have been having left hand pain for months now too.

Brief Answer:
possible radiculopathy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query,
The pain over the left breast region and over the left hand seems more of a myalgic pain or muscle pain and unlikely to be a breast issue at all. If the labs are normal , then there is no infective cause present and the burning sensation is more likely to be dyspepsia or gastritis which can be alleviated by antacids or proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole.
This could possibly be a radiculopathy or pain aong a particular nerve distribution likely cervical which can present with pain along its distribution. This would require a neurologic examination and review. it is suggested that you should visit a neurophysician for an exam and opinion.

Brief Answer:
THIS is definitely not a breast issue

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
THIS is definitely not a breast issue and the cause is more of a musculoskeletal issue and possibly even due to poor posture . This can be relieved by stretching and even with some hot fomentation and maintenance of electrolyte levels in the body bykeeping good hydration.
In my opinion, you should not be worried and it doesn't seem to be serious at all.
