default
Posted on Mon, 3 Apr 2017
Question: I've had "soft" bowel movements this week. The problems are 1) to get back to having regular type bowel movements and 2) to figure out why, when I wipe, there is quite a bit of it left on me to wipe away.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your post on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your history may I know whether you have anal pain or not? "If" yes then you need a physical examination by your treating doctor to ruled out anal fistula. As per your question to get regular bowel movements please follow:-

1)Add fiber to your diet, it increases the weight of your stool and speeds its passage through your intestines.slowly begin to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables each day.

2)Physical activity increases muscle activity in your intestines. Try to fit in exercise most days of the week.

3)Take your time in the bathroom, allowing yourself enough time to have a bowel movement without distractions and without feeling rushed.

4)Add a stool softeners at bed time if required which will be decided by your treating doctor.

I hope I was able to answer your questions, if you have any further clarifications then do not hesitate to ask me.

Wish you a good health

Thanks
