What Causes Shooting Pain Going Up The Left Side Of My Back?

default
Posted on Wed, 18 Mar 2015
Question: Hello,

I fell off a pull up bar at the gym this morning and landed right on my lower back, most left side and hip bone.

It took me a while to get up as there was a sharp shooting pain going up the left side of my back. I went to physio who said it is only muscular (feels like a XXXXXXX horse in my lower back) but I can barely walk and the sharp pain occurs when I rotate my spine in any direction or move my legs.

Should I see a doctor for an x-ray?

Thank you,
M

Brief Answer:
You have developed back muscle spasm

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and i think you have developed back muscle spasm. It does not looks to me that you need an x ray at present. I would suggest you following.
1.You need to take bed rest.
2.Hot water fomentation and volitran ointment.
3.Avoid weight lifting, any exercises or forward bending.
4.Tablet voveron twice daily after meal.
5.Tablet Myospaz or myoril twice.
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if there is any further questions.
Thanks
